DT 46475
(DW260-070) Auto Transaxle Oil Plug Remover/Installer
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the transaxle wiring harness and disconnect the electrical connector from the park/neutral position (PNP) switch.
Notice: Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking Notice in the Preface section.
- Raise and suitable support the vehicle.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
in Frame and Underbody.
- Using
DT 46475
(1), remove the transaxle fluid drain plug. Drain the transaxle fluid.
- Remove the oil pan and the oil pan gasket. Refer to
Automatic Transmission Fluid Pan and Gasket Removal
.
- Remove the valve body mounting bolts.
- Remove the mounting bolt from the A/T input speed sensor.
- Remove the mounting bolts from the A/T output speed sensor.
- Remove the control valve body.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Important: After installing the transmission assembly, the shift adapts must be reset. reset the shift adapts using the scan tool. Go to "Trans Adaptives Reset" under "Special Functions" on the scan tool.
- Install the control valve body and the mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
- Install the mounting bolt to the input speed sensor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
- Install the mounting bolt to the output speed sensor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the oil pan and the oil pan gasket. Refer to
Automatic Transmission Fluid Pan and Gasket Installation
.
- Using
DT 46475
(1), install the transaxle fluid drain plug.
- Install the engine cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
in Frame and Underbody.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the transaxle wiring harness and connect the electrical connector from the PNP switch.
- Refill the transaxle fluid. Refer to
Transmission Fluid Level Inspection
.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
