Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1290042  Size: SH
  1. Remove the caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .
  2. Remove the brake shoes.
  3. Remove the caliper mounting bracket.

  4. Object Number: 1290045  Size: SH
  5. Remove the rotor detent screw.
  6. Remove the rotor.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Brake Caliper Notice in the Preface section.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Important: To guarantee uniform braking, always refinish both rotors even if only one rotor is defective.

  1. Install the rotor on the front wheel hub and install the detent screw.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the rotor detent screw to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  3. Apply a few drops of thread-locking compound to the caliper bracket mounting bolts and install the caliper bracket.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the caliper bracket mounting bolts to 56 N·m (41 lb ft).

  5. Install the brake pads and the caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .
