The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Rear defogger glass might be hot to the touch after the rear defogger has been on for 20-30 minutes.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If the vehicle does NOT have air conditioning the rear window defogger needs to be turned off manually because there is no timer.
On the NON-AC systems that don't have a timer, the rear glass temperature can raise and will heat the rear glass up to 71 or 75 C, that is equivalent to 160 or 167 F.
Note: This is a normal condition and no repair attempts should be made.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
