Condition

Some customers may comment on a noise or rubbing sound coming from the stabilizer shaft. This sound is most noticeable when driving over bumps or rough surfaces.

Cause

This condition may be caused by the friction force between the stabilizer shaft and the insulator.

Correction

Important: Before replacing any components, carefully diagnose the noise concern and inspect for loose fasteners.

Important: Any residual grease or dirt should be cleaned from the stabilizer shaft before installing new insulators.

New insulators have been developed that have grooves on the inside. Replace the affected insulators following the appropriate procedures in SI.
