The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
A SES light and DTC P0111 may be experienced shortly after using the engine block heater and cold starting the engine. In some instances, a DTC P0131 may also be stored.
Important: This PI does not apply if the SES light occurs without using the engine block heater.
Recommendation/Instructions:
A thermostatic block heater cord has been designed to address this concern, and was recently available through the WPC (Warranty Parts Center). Unfortunately, their stock has been depleted and they can not accept new orders until their stock is replenished.
At this time, there is no ETA for additional cords. This PI will be updated with ordering instructions once they receive additional cords and are able to accept orders again.
