The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Crunch (Dry rubber sound) noise from the front suspension over bumps when driving. This noise may be caused from a binding condition in the front lower control arm bushings.
Loosen both the front (horizontal) and rear (vertical) front control arm attachment bolts on one side. Make sure you have the front control arms supporting the vehicle weight and then re-torque the control arm bolts to factory spec's 110 N·m (81 lb ft).
Note: Perform the same operation on the opposite side.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
