Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  3. Use paint in order to mark the position of the adjuster cam relative to the control arm and the rear crossmember.

  4. Object Number: 1290739  Size: SH
  5. Remove the lower control rear arm bolt from the rear crossmember.
  6. Remove the lower control rear arm bolt from the rear knuckle.
  7. Remove the lower control rear arm from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1290740  Size: SH
  1. Install the lower control rear arm onto the rear knuckle with the bolt.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the lower control rear arm-to-knuckle bolt to 120 N·m (89 lb ft).

    Important: Do not tighten the lower control rear arm-to-rear crossmember bolt yet. Tightening the bolt is part of the rear toe adjustment procedure.

  3. Install the lower control rear arm onto the rear crossmember with the bolt.
  4. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  5. Perform a rear toe adjustment and tighten the lower control rear arm-to-rear crossmember bolt. Refer to Rear Toe Adjustment.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
