Clutch Pedal Replacement D16 and D20 Manual Transaxle

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1290054  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the return spring from the clutch pedal.
  3. Remove the clip and the pedal mounting shaft.

  4. Object Number: 1290058  Size: SH
  5. Remove the locking clip and push rod fixing pin.
  6. Remove the push rod from the clutch pedal.
  7. Remove the clutch pedal.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1290058  Size: SH
  1. Install the clutch pedal.
  2. Coat the push rod with multi-purpose grease.
  3. Install the push rod to the clutch pedal.
  4. Install the locking clip and push rod fixing pin.

  5. Object Number: 1290054  Size: SH
  6. Coat the pedal mounting shaft with multi-purpose grease.
  7. Install the clip and the pedal mounting shaft.
  8. Connect the return spring to the clutch pedal.
  9. Adjust the clutch pedal play. Refer to Clutch Pedal Free Travel Adjustment .
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1890954  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the turn-over spring from the mount brace.
  3. Remove the nut and the pedal mounting shaft.

  4. Object Number: 1890958  Size: SH
  5. Remove the E-ring and push rod fixing pin.
  6. Remove the clutch pedal from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1890958  Size: SH

    Important: When installing the clutch pedal to the mount brace make sure the turn-over spring engages the notch on the rear of the clutch pedal.

  1. Install the clutch pedal.
  2. Coat the piston push rod with multi-purpose grease.
  3. Install the push rod fixing pin and E-ring.

  4. Object Number: 1890954  Size: SH
  5. Coat the pedal mounting shaft with multi-purpose grease.
  6. Install the pedal mounting shaft and the nut.
  7. Tightening
    Tighten the clutch pedal nut to 18 N·m (13 lb ft)

  8. Connect the turn-over spring to the mount brace.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
