The brake can be overheated when the traction control system (TCS) controls the brake system to reduce the velocity of the driving wheel. At this moment, the electronic brake control module (EBCM) calculates the brake application time and frequency and shows the warning sign of an overheated driving wheel to the driver.
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC C0931 System Thermal High
• | Vehicle speed is greater than 6 km/h (4 mph) with the brake pedal not applied |
or |
• | Vehicle speed is greater than 15 km/h (9 mph) and the brake pedal is actuated. |
The EBCM shows the driving wheel temperature is over 400°C (752°F).
The TCS does not function when the DTC C0931 is detected.
The condition responsible for setting the DTC no longer exists and the scan tool Clear DTCs function is used.
