Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1290874 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement.
  3. Disconnect the electrical switch connectors.

    4. Object Number: 1290875 Size: SH
  4. Remove the pinch nut from the shift control cable adjuster.
  5. Remove the cable from the bracket.

    6. Object Number: 1290876 Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolts and the nuts holding the shift control assembly to the floor panel.
  7. Remove the shift control assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1290876 Size: SH
  1. Install the shift control assembly.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the bolts and the nuts holding the shift control assembly to the floor panel and tighten to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

    3. Object Number: 1290875 Size: SH
  3. Install the shift control cable onto the bracket.
  4. Install the adjuster pinch nut to the cable and tighten to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

    5. Object Number: 1290874 Size: SH
  5. Connect the electrical switch connectors.
  6. Install the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
