Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1460070 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Open and suitably support the liftgate.
  3. Disconnect liftgate door grommet.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect the liftgate washer hose.
  6. Remove the liftgate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement.
  7. With the aid of an assistant, remove the bolts and the liftgate from the hinges.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1460070 Size: SH
  1. With the aid of an assistant, install the liftgate to the hinges with the bolts and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
  2. Install the liftgate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement.
  3. Connect the liftgate washer hose.
  4. Connect the electrical connector.
  5. Connect the liftgate door grommet.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
