Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement for Chevrolet Optra 2009

Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Sensing and Diagnostic Module Voltage after Ignition is Turned Off Warning in the Preface section.

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1724876 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the trim from the center pillar.
  3. Disconnect the side impact sensor connector (2).
  4. Remove the side impact sensor mounting bolts.
  5. Remove the side impact sensor (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1724876 Size: SH
  1. Install the side impact sensor (1).

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the side impact sensor mounting bolts and tighten to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
  3. Connect the side impact sensor connector (2).
  4. Install the trim to the center pillar.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
