Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the engine cover.

    2. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    3. Notice: Refer to Oxygen Sensor Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.

    4. Object Number: 1701496 Size: SH
  4. Remove the exhaust flex pipe retaining nuts from the exhaust manifold studs.

    5. Object Number: 1701523 Size: SH
  5. Remove the exhaust manifold retaining nuts in the sequence shown and remove the exhaust manifold.
  6. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket.
  7. Clean the sealing surfaces of the exhaust manifold and the cylinder head.
