Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1876466 Size: SH
  1. Remove the battery and tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
  2. Remove the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement.
  3. Apply the parking brake.
  4. Place the shift control lever into neutral (N) position.

  5. Remove the cable adjust nut.
  6. Disconnect the shift control cable from the shift control lever assembly.

    7. Object Number: 1876464 Size: SH

    Note: The shift control cable must be disconnected from the transmission range switch lever prior to disconnecting it from the control cable bracket. Otherwise damage to the manual shift shaft may result, requiring transaxle disassembly.

  7. Remove the clip from the transmission range switch lever and disconnect the shift control cable from the lever.
  8. Remove the clip from the shift control cable bracket.

  9. Remove the shift control cable from the dash panel.
  10. Remove the shift control cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1876464 Size: SH
  1. Route the shift control cable through the cable bracket.
  2. Secure the cable to the bracket with a new control cable retaining clip.
  3. With the TR switch lever in neutral (N), install the clip onto the TR switch lever.

    4. Object Number: 1876474 Size: SH
  4. Secure the shift control cable grommet by pressing the cable into the pass-thru hole in the dash panel.

    5. Object Number: 1876465 Size: SH
  5. Ensure the shift control lever is in the neutral (N) position.
  6. Connect the shift control cable to the shift control lever assembly.

    7. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  7. Install the shift control cable adjuster pinch nut and tighten to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
  8. Adjust the shift control cable. Refer to Shift Control Cable Adjustment.

  9. Install the front console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement.
  10. Install the battery and tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
