Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1398176 Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear transmission mount. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Replacement.

    2. Object Number: 927947 Size: SH
  2. Disconnect the intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear.

    3. Object Number: 927957 Size: SH
  3. Remove the steering gear to frame bolts.
  4. Secure the steering gear upward in order to gain additional clearance.

    5. Object Number: 1398182 Size: SH
  5. Remove the transmission mount bracket to transmission bolts.

    6. Object Number: 1398184 Size: SH
  6. Remove the transmission mount bracket from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1398184 Size: SH
  1. Position the transmission mount bracket to the transmission.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1398182 Size: SH
  2. Install the transmission mount bracket with the transmission bolts and tighten to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).

    3. Object Number: 927957 Size: SH
  3. Lower the steering gear to the frame.
  4. Install the steering gear with the frame bolts and tighten to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).

    5. Object Number: 927947 Size: SH
  5. Install the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear.
  6. Install the intermediate steering shaft with the gear pinch bolt and tighten to 34 N·m (25 lb ft).

    7. Object Number: 1398176 Size: SH
  7. Install the rear transmission mount. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Replacement.
