Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1701605  Size: SH
  1. Remove the timing belt and the timing belt cover. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement.
  2. Remove the right engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement.
  3. Remove the camshaft gears. Refer to Camshaft Gear Replacement.
  4. Remove the timing belt automatic tensioner bolt.
  5. Remove the timing belt automatic tensioner.
  6. Remove the timing belt idler pulleys.
  7. Remove the crankshaft gear.
  8. Remove the rear timing belt cover bolts.
  9. Remove the rear timing belt cover.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear timing belt cover.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the rear timing belt cover bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear timing belt cover bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Install the crankshaft gear.
  6. Install the timing belt idler pulleys.
  7. Install the timing belt idler pulley bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the timing belt idler pulley bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the right engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement.

  10. Object Number: 1701605  Size: SH
  11. Install the timing belt automatic tensioner.
  12. Install the timing belt automatic tensioner bolts.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the timing belt automatic tensioner bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

    Important: Take extreme care to prevent any scratches, nicks or damage to the camshafts.

  14. Install the camshaft gears. Refer to Camshaft Gear Replacement.
  15. Install the timing belt and timing belt cover. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement.
