Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 43178 Prizm Fuel Line Quick Connect Separator.

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Remove the fuel feed hose quick connect coupling cover.

  3. Object Number: 236747  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the fuel feed hose quick connect coupling from the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail using the J 43178 Prizm Fuel Line Quick Connect Separator. Use a shop towel to catch any remaining fuel that may leak. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  5. Object Number: 382442  Size: SH
  6. Remove the fuel feed line quick connect coupling cover (1).

  7. Object Number: 382450  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the fuel feed hose quick connect coupling from the fuel feed chassis pipe. Use a shop towel to catch any remaining fuel that may leak. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  9. Remove the fuel feed hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the fuel feed hose quick connect coupling to the fuel feed chassis pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  2. Object Number: 382442  Size: SH
  3. Install the fuel feed line quick connect coupling cover (1).

  4. Object Number: 315439  Size: SH
  5. Connect the fuel feed hose quick connect coupling (1) to the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail (2). Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  6. Install the fuel feed hose quick connect coupling cover.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the negative battery cable terminal retainer to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  10. Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.
  11. Turn OFF the ignition.
  12. Check for any fuel leaks.
