Rear Brake Pipe Removal Procedure (Rear Wheel)

  1. Siphon brake fluid from the reservoir.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Clean any dirt and foreign materials from the pipes and fittings.
  4. Remove the rear brake pipe from the rear wheel cylinder.
  5. Remove the rear brake pipe from the rear brake hose.

Rear Brake Pipe Installation Procedure (Rear Wheel)

  1. Install the rear brake pipe to the rear brake hose.
  2. Install the rear brake pipe to the rear wheel cylinder.
  3. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
  4. Lower the vehicle.

Rear Brake Pipe Removal Procedure (Center of the Vehicle)

  1. Siphon brake fluid from the reservoir.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Clean any dirt and foreign materials from the pipes and fittings.
  4. Remove the center brake pipe from the rear brake hose.
  5. Remove the center brake pipe from the brake hose retainers.
  6. Remove the center brake pipe from the brake pipe retainers.
  7. Remove the center brake pipe from the proportioning valve.

Rear Brake Pipe Installation Procedure (Center of the Vehicle)

  1. Install the center brake pipe to the proportioning valve.
  2. Install the center brake pipe to the brake pipe retainers.
  3. Install the center brake pipe to the brake hose retainers.
  4. Install the center brake pipe to the rear brake hose.
  5. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
  6. Lower the vehicle.

Front Brake Pipe Removal Procedure (From the Master Cylinder to the ABS Modulator Valve)

  1. Siphon brake fluid from the reservoir.
  2. Clean any dirt and foreign materials from the pipes and fittings.
  3. Remove the front brake pipe from the master cylinder.
  4. Remove the front brake pipe from the ABS modulator valve.

Front Brake Pipe Installation Procedure (From the Master Cylinder to the ABS Modulator Valve)

  1. Install the front brake pipe to the ABS modulator valve.
  2. Install the front brake pipe to the master cylinder.
  3. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

Front Brake Pipe Removal Procedure (From the ABS Modulator Valve to the Proportioning Valve)

  1. Siphon brake fluid from the reservoir.
  2. Clean any dirt and foreign materials from the pipes and fittings.
  3. Remove the front brake pipe from the ABS modulator valve.
  4. Remove the front brake pipe from the front brake pipe retainers.
  5. Remove the front brake pipe from the proportioning valve.

Front Brake Pipe Installation Procedure (From the ABS Modulator Valve to the Proportioning Valve)

  1. Install the front brake pipe to the proportioning valve.
  2. Install the front brake pipe to the front brake pipe retainers.
  3. Install the front brake pipe to the ABS modulator valve.
  4. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

Front Brake Pipe Removal Procedure (From the Proportioning Valve to the Front Brake Pipe Fitting)

  1. Siphon brake fluid from the reservoir.
  2. Clean any dirt and foreign materials from the pipes and fittings.
  3. Remove the front brake pipe from the proportioning valve.
  4. Remove the front brake pipe from the front brake pipe retainers.
  5. Remove the front brake pipe from the front brake pipe fitting.

Front Brake Pipe Installation Procedure (From the Proportioning Valve to the Front Brake Pipe Fitting)

  1. Install the front brake pipe to the front brake pipe fitting.
  2. Install the front brake pipe to the front brake pipe retainers.
  3. Install the front brake pipe to the proportioning valve.
  4. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

Front Brake Pipe Removal Procedure (From the Front Brake Pipe Fitting to the Front Wheel)

  1. Siphon brake fluid from the reservoir.
  2. Clean any dirt and foreign materials from the pipes and fittings.
  3. Remove the front brake pipe from the front brake pipe fitting.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  6. Remove the front brake pipe from the front brake hose.
  7. Remove the front brake pipe from the front brake hose retainer.

Front Brake Pipe Installation Procedure (From the Front Brake Pipe Fitting to the Front Wheel)

  1. Install the front brake pipe to the front brake hose.
  2. Install the front brake pipe to the front brake hose retainer.
  3. Lower the vehicle in order to allow access to the front brake pipe fitting.
  4. Install the front brake pipe to the front brake pipe fitting.
  5. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
  6. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
