Removal Procedure
- Remove the air cleaner
assembly.
- Disconnect the EBCM harness connector (2).
- Remove the 6 brake pipes from the valve assembly (3)
for the brake pressure modulator.
- Plug the brake pipes in order to prevent loss or contamination
of brake fluid.
- Remove 3 nuts and the brake pressure modulator valve assembly (3)
from the bracket (4).
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the valve
assembly (3) for the brake pressure modulator to the bracket (4).
Secure with 3 nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pressure modulator valve assembly nuts to 21 N·m
(15 lb ft).
- Remove the plugs from brake pipes and connect the brake pipes
to the brake pressure modulator valve assembly (3).
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe fittings nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb in).
- Connect the EBCM electrical connector (2).
- Install the air cleaner assembly.
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to
Antilock Brake System Automated Bleed Procedure
.
- Perform the Diagnostic System Check.
