Removal Procedure
Important: When installing a new hose assembly add 30 ml (1.0 fl oz)
of refrigerant oil to the refrigeration system.
- Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Disconnect the refrigerant
pressure switch electrical connector (1).
- Remove the bolt (4) from the condenser inlet/outlet.
Important: Cap the open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the
refrigeration system.
- Slide the plate (5) counterclockwise and remove the compressor discharge
hose (6) from the condenser.
- Remove the bolt (2) and
the compressor hose assembly (1) from the compressor.
- Remove the suction line
(6) from the accumulator.
- Remove the compressor hose assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install new O-rings lubricated with 525 viscosity mineral oil.
- Position the compressor hose assembly into the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the suction
line (6) to the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the suction line to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
- Install the compressor
hose assembly (1) to the compressor, secure with the one bolt (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
- Install the compressor
discharge (6) and the liquid line (3) to the condenser. Slide the plate (5)
clockwise and secure with 1 bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt (4) to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
- Connect the refrigerant pressure switch connector (1).
- Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing
.
