  1. Remove the A/C MG relay from fuse and relay block 2.
  2. Move the blower speed selector switch to any position except OFF.
  3. Start the engine.

Is the A/C compressor clutch engaged?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Repair the short to voltage between the A/C MG relay in fuse and relay block 2 and the A/C compressor clutch connector terminal A (including fuse and relay block 1). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to the HVAC System Check

Test the A/C MG relay for continuity between terminals 3 and  5. Refer to

Fuse and Relay Block 2

Does continuity exist?

Go to Step 12

  1. Install the A/C MG relay.
  2. Disconnect the A/C switch.
  3. Move the blower speed selector switch to any position except OFF.
  4. Start the engine.

Is the A/C compressor clutch engaged?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 9

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Connect the A/C switch.
  3. Disconnect the A/C compressor control module.
  4. Move the blower speed selector switch to any position except OFF.
  5. Start the engine.

Is the A/C compressor clutch engaged?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Repair the short to ground in the BLU/BLK wire between the A/C MG relay in fuse and relay block 2 and the A/C compressor control module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to the HVAC System Check

  1. Test for a short to voltage in the YEL wire between the A/C switch and the A/C compressor control module.
  2. Test for a short to ground in the YEL/RED wire between the A/C compressor control module and the PCM.

Was a short found?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 10

Replace the A/C switch. Refer to Control Assembly Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to the HVAC System Check

Replace the A/C compressor control module. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Control Module Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to the HVAC System Check

Repair the open/short. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the MG relay. Refer to Condenser Fan Relay Replacement .
