  1. Disconnect the DRL control module connector.
  2. Turn the turn signal/headlamp switch to the Head position.
  3. Test for continuity between cavity 2 of the DRL module connector and ground using a J 39200 .

Is there continuity in the RED/WHT wire to ground?

  1. Disconnect the turn signal/headlamp switch connector.
  2. Test for continuity between cavity 16 of the turn signal/headlamp switch connector and ground using a J 39200 .

Is there continuity in the WHT/BLK wire to ground?

--

Go to Step 4

Test for continuity between cavity 8 of the turn signal/headlamp switch connector and cavity 2 of the DRL control module connector using a J 39200 . Refer to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement for access.

Is there continuity in the RED/WHT wire?

--

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 9

Repair the WHT/BLK wire between cavity 16 of the turn signal/headlamp switch connector and ground. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Headlight System Check

Replace the turn signal/headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Connect a fused jumper wire from cavity 19 of the DRL control module connector to chassis ground.
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire from cavity 18 of the DRL control module connector to chassis ground.

Do the low beams illuminate?

Replace the DRL control module. Refer to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Repair the open in the RED/WHT wire between the DRL control module and the turn signal/headlamp switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Remove the DIMMER relay in the fuse and relay block 2 located in the LH front engine compartment, left of battery.
  2. Measure the voltage from cavity 4 of the DIMMER relay socket.

Is the measured voltage equal to the specified value?

B+

Replace the DIMMER relay in the fuse and relay block 2 located in the LH front engine compartment, left of battery.

Is the replacement complete?

Test for an open in the RED/WHT wire between the DRL control module and fuse and relay block 1 which is located in the LH front engine compartment, left of the air cleaner (ACL).

Does the wire have an open?

Test for an open in the RED wire between the DIMMER relay and fuse and relay block 1.

Does the wire have an open?

Locate and repair the open in the RED wire between the DIMMER relay and fuse and relay block 1. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open in the RED/WHT wire between the DRL control module and fuse and relay block 1. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
