Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 238956  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the four ignition wires from the ignition coil.
  2. Disconnect the two ignition coil electrical connectors.

  3. Object Number: 238958  Size: SH
  4. Remove the four ignition coil hold down bolts/nuts (2) and the two ignition coils (1) from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 238958  Size: SH
  1. Install the ignition coils (1) to the side of the cylinder head.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Secure the ignition coils (1) to the cylinder head with four bolts/nuts (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coil hold down bolts/nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the two ignition coil electrical connectors to the correct ignition coils.

  7. Connect the four ignition wires to the correct ignition coils.
