Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system.

- Remove the LH front engine splash shield. Refer to
Engine Splash Shield Replacement
.
- Remove the electrical connector (1).
- Remove the fasteners (3).
- Remove the front end discriminating sensor (2).
Installation Procedure
- Enable the SIR system.
Refer to
Enabling the SIR System

- Install the front end discriminating sensor (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fasteners (3).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 20 N·m (14 lb ft).
- Install the electrical
connector (1).
- Install the LH front engine splash shield. Refer to
Engine Splash Shield Replacement

- Remove the RH front turn signal lamp. Refer to Front Turn Signal
Lamp Removal Procedure.
- Remove the RH headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Assembly Replacement.
- Remove the electrical connector (1).
- Remove the fasteners (2).
- Remove the front end discriminating sensor (3).
Installation Procedure
- Enable the SIR system.

- Install the front end discriminating sensor (3).
