    • J 25018-A Input Clutch Spring Compressor Adapter
    • J 23327-1 Clutch Spring Compressor

  1. Remove the snap ring from the clutch drum.

  2. Object Number: 163899  Size: SH
  3. Remove the following components:
  4. • The flange (9)
    • The discs (8)
    • The plates (7)

  5. Use a J 25018-A and J 23327 in order to compress the piston return springs.

  6. Object Number: 163899  Size: SH
  7. Remove the snap ring (6), exposing the retainer spring (5).

  8. Object Number: 412136  Size: SH
  9. Remove the following components:
  10. • The retainer spring
    • The 18 springs

    Object Number: 163618  Size: SH
  11. Remove the piston by applying compressed air into the oil passage.
  12. If the piston does not come out, use needle-nose pliers in order to remove the piston.

  13. Inspect the clutch piston:
  14. 7.1. Shake the piston in order to determine if the check ball is free.
    7.2. Apply low-pressure compressed air in order to determine if the valve leaks.

  15. Remove the O-rings (4) from the piston (3).
  16. Replace the oil seal rings (1) using the following procedure:
  17. 9.1. Slide the rings over the top of the shaft drum (2).
    9.2. Install the rings into the groove.
    9.3. Do not spread the ring ends.
