Removal Procedure

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Object Number: 325492 Size: SH
  3. Remove the 5 cooling fan shroud to radiator mounting bolts.
  4. Disconnect the wire and connector from the fan shroud (2).
  5. Remove the nut(s) from the fan of the defective fan motor (3).
  6. Remove the 3 screws from the defective fan motor (1).
  7. Remove the fan motor from the cooling fan assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 325492 Size: SH
  1. Install the cooling fan motor to the cooling fan assembly and secure with three screws.
  2. Install the cooling fan (3) to the cooling fan motor (1) and secure the fan with one nut.
  3. Install the wire and connector to the fan shroud (2).
  4. Install the cooling fan assembly to the radiator.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the 5 cooling fan shroud mounting bolts.
  7. Tighten
Tighten the cooling fan mounting bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Tighten
Tighten the negative battery cable to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
