Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 236501  Size: SH
  1. Remove the oil level indicator from the guide tube.
  2. Unclip the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector from the guide tube.
  3. Remove the following components from the cylinder block:
  4. • The bolts
    • The guide tube (3)
  5. Remove the guide tube seal (1) from the guide tube.

Installation Procedure

  1. Use new engine oil in order to coat the new guide tube seal.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the new guide tube seal (1) to the guide tube. Secure the guide tube to the cylinder block using one bolt (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).

  5. Clip the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector to the guide tube.
  6. Install the oil level indicator to the guide tube.
