Removal Procedure
Notice: Brake fluid will damage electrical connections and painted surfaces.
Use shop cloths, suitable containers, and fender covers to prevent brake fluid
from contacting these areas. Always re-seal and wipe off brake fluid containers
to prevent spills.
- Clean the outside of the brake fluid reservoir.
- Disconnect the electrical connector (2) for the fluid level
switch.
- Clean the cap for the reservoir.
- Remove the cap for the reservoir.
- Siphon the brake fluid from the reservoir.
- Remove the set screw for the reservoir.
- Remove the reservoir and the grommets from the master cylinder.
Installation Procedure
- Install the new grommets
into the master cylinder (3).
- Lubricate the grommets using new, clean brake fluid. Ensure that
the grommets are seated properly.
- Install the reservoir to the master cylinder .
- Install the set screw for the reservoir.
- Connect the electrical connector (2) for the fluid level
switch.
- Fill the reservoir with brake fluid, GM P/N 12377967,
or the equivalent DOT 3 brake fluid, until the fluid reaches the MAX
mark.
- Install the cap to the reservoir.
- Inspect for fluid leakage.
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to
