Removal Procedure

  1. Siphon brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  4. Clean any dirt and foreign material from the hose and fittings.
  5. Remove the rear brake hose from the rear brake pipe.
  6. Remove the rear brake hose from the rear wheel cylinder brake pipe.
  7. Remove the rear brake hose retaining clips and the rear brake hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear brake hose. Secure with the rear brake hose retaining clips.
  2. Install the rear brake hose to the rear wheel cylinder brake pipe.
  3. Install the rear brake hose to the rear brake pipe.
  4. Bleed the brake system.
  5. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

  6. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
