Removal Procedure
The DRL module board is enclosed in the plastic case with an integral
wiring harness.
Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:
• | Unnecessary SIR system repairs |
In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
• | Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring. |
• | If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. |
- Disable
the SIR System. Refer to
Disabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Remove the instrument panel compartment. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement
in Instrument Panel,
Gauges and Console.
- Remove the 2 screws
which secure the DRL mounting brackets (3) to the instrument panel.
- Disconnect the DRL control module electrical connector (2).
- Remove the DRL control module (1) with the mounting brackets attached
from the vehicle.
- Remove the DRL control module (1) from the mounting brackets (3)
by releasing the module case clips using a flat-bladed tool.
Installation Procedure
- Install the DRL control
module (1) to the mounting brackets (3).
- Install the DRL control module (1) with the mounting brackets
attached to the instrument panel. Secure each bracket with 1 screw.
- Connect the DRL control module electrical connector (2).
- Install the instrument panel compartment. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement
in Instrument Panel,
Gauges and Console.
- Enable the SIR System. Refer to
Enabling the SIR System
in SIR.
