Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the following components:
  2. • The 2 screws
    • The 2 bolts
    • The rear center console

  3. Disconnect the park brake switch electrical connector (4).
  4. Remove the following components:
  5. • The upper park brake front cable nut (2)
    • The lower park brake front cable nut
  6. Remove the following components:
  7. • The 2 bolts
    • The lever (1)
  8. Unfasten the tab.
  9. Remove the park brake front cable from the lever.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 428450  Size: SH
  1. Install the park brake front cable to the lever.
  2. Fasten the tab.

    Secure the cable with the lower and upper nuts (2).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the park brake lever. Secure the lever using the 2 bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the lever bolts to 13 N·m (115 lb in).

  5. Connect the parking brake switch electrical connector (4).
  6. Adjust the park brake lever. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
  7. Install the following components:
  8. • The rear center console
    • The 2 bolts
    • The 2 screws
