Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fluid level indicator.
  2. Remove the filler tube bracket bolt.
  3. Remove the filler tube from the transaxle.
  4. Inspect the filler tube O-ring for cuts or other damage. Replace as necessary.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the filler tube into the transaxle. Seat the filler tube fully.
  2. Install the fluid fill tube bracket bolt into the fluid filler tube bracket.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the filler tube bracket bolt.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the filler tube bracket bolt to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  6. Install the fluid level indicator into the filler tube.
  7. Refill the transaxle, as necessary Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
