Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the I/P drivers knee bolster reinforcement. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  3. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
  4. • The plastic retainer (1)
    • The left I/P outer air outlet duct (2)

  5. Remove the screw (2) which secures Junction Block #2 (1) and position aside in order to gain the necessary clearance to remove the left I/P outer air outlet.

  6. Object Number: 432035  Size: SH
  7. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
  8. • The screw
    • The left I/P outer air outlet (1)

  9. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver electrical connector.
  10. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
  11. • The remote control door lock retaining nut
    • The remote control door lock receiver (1) with the mounting bracket attached
  12. Depress the retaining tab and remove the mounting bracket from the receiver, if necessary.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the remote control door lock receiver to the mounting bracket, if removed.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the door lock receiver (1) to the vehicle. Secure the receiver with the retaining nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the remote control door lock receiver retaining nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the remote control door lock receiver electrical connector.

  7. Install the left I/P outer air outlet (1) to the vehicle. Secure the outlet with the screw.

  8. Object Number: 432019  Size: SH
  9. Install the left I/P outer air outlet duct (2) to the vehicle. Secure the outlet duct with the plastic retainer (1).

  10. Object Number: 432032  Size: SH
  11. Reposition Junction Block #2 (1) back into position. Secure the junction block with the screw (2).
  12. Install the I/P drivers knee bolster reinforcement. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
  14. Reprogram the remote control door lock receiver. Refer to Transmitter Programming .
