Did you review the Lighting System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the Courtesy lamps are inoperative.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Using a test lamp, check the dome lamp cavity 2 to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Using a test lamp, backprobe the junction block 1, C1 cavity 3 to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 6

Replace the dome lamp. Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 13

Connect a test lamp from cavity 1 of the dome lamp to ground.

When the door is open does the dome lamp illuminate?

Repair the open in the dome lamp ground circuit between the dome lamp and the multifunction alarm module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 13

Repair the open in the dome lamp feed circuit between the dome lamp cavity 2 and the junction block 1, C1. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 13

Replace the junction block 1.

Using a fused jumper wire, connect the junction block 2 C4 cavity 7 to ground.

Does the dome lamp illuminate?

Replace the Multifunction Alarm Module. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement in Theft Deterrent.

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Step 13

Repair the open in the dome lamp ground circuit and/or replace the door jamb switch, as needed. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair/replacement complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
