Removal Procedure

The DRL module board is enclosed in the plastic case with an integral wiring harness.

    Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable the SIR System. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Remove the instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  3. Object Number: 239183  Size: SH
  4. Remove the 2 screws which secure the DRL mounting brackets (3) to the instrument panel.
  5. Disconnect the DRL control module electrical connector (2).
  6. Remove the DRL control module (1) with the mounting brackets attached from the vehicle.
  7. Remove the DRL control module (1) from the mounting brackets (3) by releasing the module case clips using a flat-bladed tool.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 239183  Size: SH
  1. Install the DRL control module (1) to the mounting brackets (3).
  2. Install the DRL control module (1) with the mounting brackets attached to the instrument panel. Secure each bracket with 1 screw.
  3. Connect the DRL control module electrical connector (2).
  4. Install the instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  5. Enable the SIR System. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
