Did you review the Lighting System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the turn signal lamps and/or indicators are inoperative.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Disconnect the turn/hazard flasher connector. Refer to Hazard and Turn Signal Flasher Replacement for access.
  3. Test for B+ at cavity 2 of the turn/hazard flasher connector.

Is B+ present at cavity 2 of the turn/hazard flasher connector?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

Test for high resistance between cavity 1 of the turn/hazard flasher connector and ground.

Is there high resistance in the WHT/BLK wire?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 10

Test for high resistance between cavity 3 of the turn/hazard flasher connector and cavity 2 of the turn signal/headlamp switch connector.

Is there high resistance in the GRN/WHT wire?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 11

Replace the turn/hazard flasher. Refer to Hazard and Turn Signal Flasher Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Step 16

  1. Disconnect connector C5 of junction block 2.
  2. Test for high resistance between cavity 4 of connector C5 of junction block 2 and cavity 7 of the hazard switch.

Is there high resistance is the GRN/ORN wire?

Go to Step 8

Test for an open between cavity 2 of the turn/hazard flasher 9 and cavity 5 of the hazard switch.

Is an open condition present?

Go to Step 9

Replace the hazard switch.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 16

Repair the open in the WHT/BLK wire between cavity 1 of the turn/hazard flasher and ground. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Test for an open between cavity 3 of the turn/hazard flasher connector and cavity 5 of connector C6 of junction block 1.

Is an open condition present?

Go to Step 12

Repair the open between cavity 2 of the turn signal switch and cavity 5 of connector C6 of junction block 1. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 16

Repair the open between cavity 3 of the turn/hazard flasher and cavity 5 of connector C6 of junction block 1. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 16

Repair the open in the GRN/ORN wire between cavity 4 of connector C5 of junction block 2 and cavity 7 of the hazard switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in the GRN/RED wire between cavity 2 of the turn/hazard switch and cavity 5 of the hazard switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
