Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment
lid.
- Remove the following components from the rear compartment:
- Remove the license plate lamps from the rear bumper fascia. Refer
to
Rear License Lamp Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
- Remove the following components from the rear bumper fascia:
• | The 4 nuts (7) which secure the center |
• | The 2 plastic retainers (9) from the bottom |
• | The 3 nuts (11) from each side |
- Pull the rear bumper fascia rearward.
- Remove rear bumper fascia (6) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the rear
bumper fascia (6) to the vehicle. Secure the fascia with the following
fasteners:
• | The 3 nuts (11) at each side |
• | The 2 plastic retainers (9) at the bottom |
• | The 4 nuts (7) at the center |
Tighten
Tighten the rear bumper fascia nuts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Install the license plate lamps from the rear bumper fascia. Refer
to
Rear License Lamp Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
- Install the following components to the rear compartment:
- Close the rear compartment lid.
