Operate the driver side and passenger side door lock switches.

Do all doors lock and unlock with each operation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Does the LH front door lock actuator work?

Go to Step 4

Using a test lamp, backprobe the multifunction alarm module connector C 1 cavity 8 to ground.

When the door lock switch is in the UNLOCK position does the test lamp illuminate?

Using a test lamp, backprobe the multifunction alarm module connector C 1 cavity 7 to ground.

When the door lock switch is in the LOCK position does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the multifunction alarm module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Repair the open or short in the RED wire between the SP253 and the multifunction alarm module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the short in the BLU wire between the SP253 and the multifunction alarm module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 10

Replace the multifunction alarm module. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement .

Operate the system to verify the repair.
