Removal Procedure
- Remove the front side door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
- Open the rod retainers (3, 6) and remove the lock rods (2, 5) from the outside door handle (1) and lock cylinder (6).
- Remove the following components from the door (3):
- Remove the following components from the outside door handle (1), if necessary:
| • | The 2 bolts (1) |
| • | The outside door handle (2) |
| • | The bolt (2) |
| • | The door lock cylinder (3) |
Installation Procedure
- Install the door lock cylinder (3) to the outside door handle (1), if removed. Secure the lock cylinder with the bolt (2).
- Install the outside door handle (2) to the door (3). Secure the handle with the 2 bolts (1).
- Install the lock rods (2, 5) to the outside door handle (1) and lock cylinder (4). Secure the rods with the retainers (3, 6).
- Install the front side door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the door lock cylinder bolt to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the outside door handle bolts to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).
