Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear end trim
finish panels. Refer to
Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side
and
Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side
.
- Remove the rear compartment sill trim plate. Refer to
Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Disconnect the rear compartment lamp switch electrical connector,
if equipped.
- Remove the following components from the vehicle:
• | The rear compartment lid lock striker (1) |
- Remove the following components from the lock striker, if necessary:
• | The rear compartment lid lamp switch (2) |
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear compartment
lid lamp switch (2) to the rear compartment lid lock striker, if removed.
Secure the switch with the screw.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the rear
compartment lid lock striker (1) to vehicle. Secure the striker with
the 2 bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker bolts to 5 N·m
(43 lb in).
- Connect the rear compartment lamp switch electrical connector,
if equipped.
- Install the rear compartment sill trim plate. Refer to
Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Install the rear end trim finish panels. Refer to
Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side
and
Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side
.
