Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 432124 Size: SH

    Important: When replacing a speedometer or an odometer assembly, the law requires the odometer reading of the replacement unit to be set to register the same mileage as the prior odometer.

    If the same mileage cannot be set, then the law requires the following actions to take place:

       • Set the replacement odometer at zero
       • Install a label on the driver's door frame showing the following information:
          - The previous odometer reading
          - The date of replacement

  1. Remove the instrument cluster retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .

    2. Important: Do not remove the needle from the speedometer. There is no detent or flat spot on the shaft in order to indicate the correct placement.

  2. Remove the 5 screws (2) which secure the speedometer to the instrument cluster case.

  3. Remove the speedometer (2) from the instrument cluster case.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 245112 Size: SH
  1. Install the speedometer (2) to the instrument cluster case.

    2. Object Number: 432124 Size: SH
  2. Secure the speedometer with the 5 screws (2).
  3. Install the instrument cluster retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .
