Removal Procedure
- Remove the right rear
compartment trim finish panel. Refer to
Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side
in Body Rear End.
- Remove the 2 plastic retainers (2) which secure the rear
compartment side trim (1) and position the trim aside.
- Remove the radio antenna
housing drain hose (4) from the radio antenna cable grommet.
- Remove the radio antenna extension cable (1) from the radio antenna
housing (2).
- Remove the antenna mast. Refer to
Fixed Antenna Mast Replacement
.
- Using a shop rag in order to protect the nut surface and a pair
of channel locks, remove the radio antenna bezel nut which secures the radio
antenna housing to the rear quarter panel.
- Remove the following components from the vehicle:
• | The radio antenna housing lower bracket retaining nut (3) |
• | The radio antenna housing |
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the radio
antenna housing (2) to the vehicle. Secure the housing with the lower bracket
retaining nut (3).
Tighten
Tighten the radio antenna housing retaining nut to 5.5 N·m
(49 lb in).
- Install the radio antenna bezel nut which secures the radio antenna
housing to the rear quarter panel.
Tighten
Tighten the radio antenna bezel nut by placing a shop rag over it and
tightening it with channel locks until it is fully seated. Use care not to
strip the nut.
- Install the antenna mast. Refer to
Fixed Antenna Mast Replacement
.
- Install the radio antenna extension cable (1) to the radio antenna
housing (2).
- Install the radio antenna housing drain hose (4) to the radio
antenna cable grommet.
- Install the rear compartment
side trim (1) back to its original position. Secure the trim with the 2 plastic
retainers (2).
- Install the right rear compartment trim finish panel. Refer to
Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side
in Body Rear End.
