- Using a ridge reamer, remove all the carbon
from the top of the cylinder.
- Rotate the crankshaft to a position where
the connecting rod bolts are the most accessible.
- Mark the connecting rod and cap with the cylinder position. Also
mark their orientation. This will ensure the caps and connecting rods are
re-assembled properly.
- Remove the connecting rod bolts.
- Carefully remove the piston and connecting rod assembly.
- Partially reinsert the connecting rod cap
bolts into the connecting rod cap and remove the connecting rod cap with
the bearing.
