Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2001 🢒 Prizm 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 1.8L 🢒 Draining Fluids and Oil Filter Removal
  1. Position an appropriate drain pan under the engine.
  2. Remove the oil pan drain bolt and allow oil to drain from the oil pan.

    3. Object Number: 236040 Size: SH
  3. Remove the oil filter.
  4. Remove coolant jacket drain plug and allow coolant to drain from the water jacket.

    5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install oil pan drain bolt and the coolant jacket plug.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan drain bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

    Tighten
    Tighten the water jacket plug to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. If cleaning or repairing the engine block, it is not necessary to reinstall the plugs.
