Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 23590 Spark Plug Port Adapter
    • J 5892-D Valve Spring Compressor
    • J 38606 Valve Spring Compressor
  1. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.
  2. • For the left side of a utility vehicle, refer to

  3. Remove the rocker arms. Refer to
  4. Remove the spark plugs. Refer to

  5. Object Number: 4048  Size: SH
  6. Install the J 23590 into the spark plug hole. Apply compressed air in order to hold the valves in place.

  7. Object Number: 1964  Size: SH
  8. Install a rocker arm nut. Use the J 5892-D in order to compress the valve spring. Use spring compressorJ 38606 that will not permit use of J 5892-D.

  9. Object Number: 4050  Size: SH
  10. Remove the valve keys.

  11. Object Number: 1964  Size: SH
  12. Release the spring tension and remove the tool. Use J 38606 for cylinders that wil not permit use of J 5892-D.

Installation Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 23590 Spark Plug Port Adapter
    • J 5892-D Valve Spring Compressor
        J 38606 Valve Spring Compressor
    • Install the seal and valve spring.
   •

  • Use the J 23590 in order to apply air pressure to the cylinder and use the J 5892-D in order to compress the spring.
  •    •

  • Install the valve keys.
  • • Use grease in order to hold the valve keys in place.
       • 
    Object Number: 1964  Size: SH
  • Release the tension on the springs.
  • Ensure that the valve keys stay in place.

  • Remove the tool.

  • Install the spark plugs.

  • Install the valve rocker arms.

  • Install the valve rocker arm cover.
