Installation Procedure

Tools Required:

    • J 25025-B Pump and Valve Body Alignment Pin Set
    • J 36850 Transmission Assembly Lube

    Object Number: 29443 Size: SH
  1. Install the 3-4 accumulator pin into the transmission case.
  2. Install the 3-4 accumulator piston oil seal ring to the piston, if removed.
  3. Install the 3-4 accumulator piston onto the pin. The piston legs must face the valve body.
  4. Install the 3-4 accumulator piston spring.
  5. Install the J 25025-B to the transmission case.

  6. Object Number: 14469 Size: SH
  7. Install the case gasket and the valve body gasket to the spacer plate. The case gasket is identified by a C. The valve body gasket is identified by a V.
  8. Use the J 36850 in order to retain the gaskets to the spacer plate.

  9. Object Number: 14469 Size: SH
  10. Install the spacer plate and the gaskets to the transmission case.

  11. Object Number: 14468 Size: SH

  13. Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  14. Install the oil seal ring to the 1-2 accumulator piston, if removed.

  15. Object Number: 14467 Size: SH
  16. Install the 1-2 accumulator piston with the piston legs facing toward the accumulator cover.
  17. Install the 1-2 accumulator springs onto the piston.

  18. Object Number: 14464 Size: SH
  19. Install the 1-2 accumulator cover and the cover bolts.
  20. Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
