For 1990-2009 cars only
- Remove the bolts that secure the lifter anti-rotation brackets.
- Remove the anti-rotation brackets.
- Remove the valve lifters from the lifter bore.
- Inspect the valve lifter for the following conditions:
- Inspect the valve lifter bore in the engine block for wear and scuffing.
- Inspect the roller for freedom of movement.
- Inspect the roller surface for flat spots and pitting.
