Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Disconnect the vacuum connectors, as necessary.

  3. Object Number: 281490  Size: SH
  4. Remove the air inlet studs (3).
  5. Remove the air inlet assembly (2).
  6. Remove the air inlet gasket (1), if necessary.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air inlet gasket (1), if necessary.
  2. Install the air inlet assembly (2).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the air inlet studs (3).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the studs to 4.5 N·m (40 lb in).

  6. Install the vacuum connectors as necessary.
  7. Install the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
