Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 345888  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the brake pipe fittings.

  4. Object Number: 179894  Size: SH
  5. Remove the retainer.
  6. Remove the rear brake hose to bracket bolt.
  7. Remove the brake hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 179894  Size: SH

    Important: After installation, the brake hose must not be twisted and the brake hose must not contact other components.

  1. Install the brake hose.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the brake hose bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the brake hose bolt to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  5. Install the retainer.

  6. Object Number: 345888  Size: SH
  7. Connect the brake pipe fittings.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

    Bleed the brakes. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

  9. Lower the vehicle and remove the safety stands.
