Removal Procedure
- Remove the radiator grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
- Remove the radiator air intake baffle. Refer to
Air Intake Baffle Replacement - Radiator
in Exterior Trim.
- Remove the nut and the
bolt that retain the brace to the bumper impact bar.
- Remove the connectors to the front turn signal lamp. Refer to
Parking and Turn Signal Lamp Replacement
in Lighting
Systems.
- Remove the fog lamp connectors, if equipped. Refer to
Front Fog Lamp Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
- Remove the nuts and the bolts that retain the bumper impact bar
to the frame.
- Remove the bumper impact bar from the vehicle.
- Remove the side extensions from the bumper impact bar, if equipped.

Installation Procedure
- Install the side extensions
to the bumper impact bar, if equipped. Refer to
Front Bumper Impact Bar Extension Replacement
.
- Install the bumper impact bar to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts
and the nuts that retain the bumper impact bar to the frame.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Install the fog lamp connectors, if equipped. Refer to
Front Fog Lamp Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
- Install the connectors to the front turn signal lamp. Refer to
Parking and Turn Signal Lamp Replacement
in Lighting
Systems.
- Install the nuts and the bolts that retain the bumper impact bars
to the brace.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Install the radiator air intake baffle. Refer to
Air Intake Baffle Replacement - Radiator
in Exterior Trim.
- Install the radiator grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
